Restore Via the User Interface

If you backed up your data using the user interface, then you can perform a restore from Maestro as well.

Restoring from a directory

  1. From the Project Server's Manage menu click Back up & Restore.
  2. Locate the section titled Restore.
  3. Specify the path of the file you wish to restore from.

    Specify the full directory path including the date and time-stamped folder/directory. For example: /tmp/backups/20070314.220256.

  4. Select if the data you wish to restore by checking the boxes adjacent to the items you wish to restore.
  5. Click Restore Backup.
  6. Click Restore on the System Restore page.
  7. If you backed up anything manually you will need to restore that data manually into the appropriate location.

    Note: Restore the continuum.xml file to [maestro_home]/projectserver/conf from the location where you saved it for backup. This file also contains the configurations for the build agents.

Restoring from recent backup link

  1. From the Project Server's Manage menu click Back up & Restore.
  2. Locate the section titled Recent Backups under the Restore section.
  3. Find the date and time of the backup you would like to restore.
  4. Click the link for the data you wish to restore.
  5. If you backed up anything manually you will need to restore that data manually into the appropriate location for that data.

    Note: Restore the continuum.xml file to [maestro_home]/projectserver/conf from the location where you saved it for backup. This file also contains the configurations for the build agents.

Manual Restore

If you backed up your data manually, then perform the following steps to restore:

  1. Stop Maestro as instructed in the Stopping Maestro section of this document.
  2. Copy your backed up data directory to the new projectserver directory:

    [maestro_home]/projectserver/

  3. Restore your saved copy of the XML files to the new conf directory:

    [maestro_home]/projectserver/conf

    Note: Restore the continuum.xml file to [maestro_home]/projectserver/conf from the location where you saved it for backup. This file also contains the configurations for the build agents.

  4. If you saved other repositories, restore them by copying them from the saved location to the new location of your choice.
  5. If you saved the [maestro_home]/projectserver/conf/security.properties file, restore that file by copying it to the new location.
  6. Restart Maestro according to the instructions in the Starting Maestro section.
