The Web interface of the Maestro Project Server provides the user easy access, configuration and management of the project server. To open the Web interface:
If you configured the project server on another machine, change localhost to the correct host name and if it is configured on a different port replace 8080 with the correct value.
The Maestro home page will then be displayed. All links in the left navigation bar will only be visible if you're logged in as a user with System Administrator role. A user with User Administrator role can view the Users link on the left navigation bar.
The left side menu contains links that are grouped in two categories: Configure and Manage.
Links under the Configure group are for configuring different aspects and features of Maestro: Global Settings, Appearance, Project Server, Build Management (for Continuum), and Developer Client (for Maven). These are discussed further in the Customizations for the Maestro Project Server section.
Links under the Manage group are Users, which opens the page for user management and is discussed in the User Account Administration and Security section; and Back up & Restore for the new back-up and restore feature of Maestro, which is discussed in the Backing Up the Maestro Project Server section.
On the home page you will also find links to the rest of the Maestro Project Server. These links are also available on the navigation bar.
Project Server: this is the page where you are at right now. This is also the main page of the Maestro Project Server user interface.
Build Management: this link opens the page for the Continuous Integration Server, also known as the Continuum page. On this page users can perform build, reporting, and other management tasks to ensure the stability of the projects. This is discussed further in the Continuous Integration Server section.
Artifact Repository: this link opens the page for the Repository Manager or Archiva feature of Maestro. This is discussed in the Artifact Repository Manager chapter.
Project Web Sites: this link opens a page that will allow you to browse through the project sites you've set up. The project sites are located in: [maestro_home]/projectserver/data/sites
If you have just installed Maestro you probably do not have any project sites set up, so if you click the Project Web Sites link you will see an empty page. To set up an example project, read Configuring Maestro to Build Equinox.
Documentation: this link opens a page that will provide links to the documentation set of Maestro.
There are also two additional links provided for the user's ease of use on the available resources.
Maestro Developer Client's Configuration (<<<settings.xml>)>>: this link allows the user to download the developer-client-settings.xml file that is located in:
Exist Global web site: this link opens the page from the Exist Global Web site where the user can contact the development team in case they need support and assistance.
Forums: this link opens a page with information about the latest happening in the Apache Maven community, Eclipse IAM and other activities at Exist Global. Link to the Maestro forum can also be found in this page.
