Doug Dennington

CEO

Doug leads the company with 16 years of industry experience and a proven track record of growing technology startups, developing G2000 customer relationships, and achieving multi-million dollar revenues. Most recently, Doug was Director, Open Source Sales at Progress Software and IONA Technologies. He built sales teams across the US and Europe, and grew revenues 400% over two years.

Doug was on the founding team at Simula Labs, where he grew the business to 10 countries, over 50 customers, $5MM in sales in the first two years, and successfully sold the LogicBlaze business unit to IONA in 2007. As a founding executive and GM of Gluecode Software, he was responsible for market analysis, product development, sales, and customer delivery. In May 2005, Gluecode was sold to IBM. His customers have included Alcatel-Lucent, Betfair, BSkyB, CVS|Caremark, Deloitte Consulting, Freddie Mac, IHG, Intel, KKR, Kroger, Lexus, MCI, Microsoft, Sabre Holdings, Toyota, UCLA Medical Center, Zappos.com, and Mazda -- for which his team won a CIO Magazine award for "50 Best Intranets." Doug structured business partnerships with IBM, Trilogy, and Akamai Technologies, where he earned their inaugural "Partner of the Year" award.

Brett Porter

CTO

Brett is a member of the Apache Maven Project Management Committee (PMC), and has been heavily involved in Apache Maven development since 2003. He is a co-founder of the Apache Archiva project, and is currently a PMC member or Committer for several projects including Apache Archiva, Commons, Continuum, Labs, and Maven. He is a Member of the Apache Software Foundation, and served on the Board of Directors in 2009-10.

Prior to joining the team, Brett has held positions as Vice President of Engineering of DevZuz, and as a Team Lead and Architect at Fairfax Digital.

He is the co-author of "Apache Maven 2: Effective Implementation," written in 2009, and "Better Builds with Maven," the first book to be written about the Maven 2.0 release in 2005.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Computer Science, from University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.

Michael Malgeri

VP, Field Operations

Michael Malgeri has over 25 years of extensive and valuable industry experience. He's worked for startup, midsized and large corporations with positions in engineering, research, manufacturing, sales, marketing, customer support and professional services.

Prior to joining MaestroDev, he was a Technical Project Manager for Warner Brothers. He's also served as a Program Manager for IBM's Partner Technical Enablement division, as a Director of Client Services for Gluecode ( a startup sold to IBM) and as CTO for Tonos Entertainment, a music industry Internet startup.

While in customer facing roles he's interacted with hundreds of clients across a range of industries such as aerospace, entertainment, electronics, finance, energy, health care and consumer products.

Michael holds Masters Degrees in Business from Pepperdine University, Computer Science from Loyola Marymount University and Engineering from Cornell University.

Carlos Sanchez

Senior Solutions Architect

Carlos Sanchez has been involved in open source for nearly ten years. He specializes in solving business challenges in a wide variety of industries, including e-commerce, financial services, telecommunications, and software development leveraging open source solutions to the enterprise.

He contributes and leads in several projects at the Apache Software Foundation and the Eclipse Foundation. As an Apache Maven PMC member, Carlos is one of the maintainers of the central Maven repository. He is also a co-author of the "Better Builds with Maven", the first book written about Maven 2.

Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidad de A Coruna in Spain.

Wendy Smoak

Senior Solutions Architect

Wendy Smoak's contributions to MaestroDev centers around the enterprise adoption of Apache Maven and its related technologies.

She is a member of The Apache Software Foundation and is a committer on several open source projects where she focuses on user support, documentation, and infrastructure.

Wendy holds a degree in Computer Science from the Arizona State University.

Maria Odea Ching

Senior Software Engineer

Maria Odea Ching leads the development team of MaestroDev in the Philippines. She is currently serving as Chairperson of the Apache Archiva Project Management Committee (PMC) and is also involved in the Apache Continuum and Apache Maven projects. She has been a committer at the Apache Software Foundation since 2006. Deng is also a co-author of the Apache Maven best practice by example book, "Effective Apache Maven 2".

Deng has a degree in BS Computer Studies with specialization in IT from the prestigious De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines.

Leo Spiegel

Leo Spiegel is a Managing Partner at Mission Ventures, a Southern California venture capital firm that invests in early stage IT companies. Prior to joining Mission Ventures, Leo Spiegel was President of Digital Island, Inc., a leading provider of global e-business network and content delivery services. Leo joined Digital Island as a result of a merger with Sandpiper Networks, Inc., the world's first content delivery service provider for the Internet, where he was the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. In 2000, Leo won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Prior to his leadership of Sandpiper Networks, Leo served as Senior Vice President and CTO of Donnelley Enterprise Solutions Incorporated, an information management firm specializing in systems integration, outsourcing and software development. Leo was the co-founder, EVP and CTO of LANSystems, a network utilities software developer and international systems integration firm, which was sold to Intel Corporation and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company.

Winston Damarillo

Winston Damarillo is Founding Partner of Global Gateway Venture Capital, which is dedicated to building and realizing market potential for innovative technology start-ups. Winston has founded multiple software technology companies including Gluecode Software, an open source application infrastructure company which was acquired by IBM in 2005, Logicblaze acquired by Iona Technologies in 2007, and most recently, Webtide, acquired by Intalio in 2009.

Winston is one of the prestigious Young Global Leader (YGL) honorees for 2010 and an active participant of the World Economic Forum, a place where young leaders envision and create a brighter future. He also serves as a Board member and international Marketing Director for the Philippine Software Industry Association.
